Spanish journalist, Xavier Rius Sant

On 19 November 2021, journalist Xavier Rius Sant, who writes about far-right movements, received death threats on Twitter after he appeared on TV channel La Sexta's show "Equipo de Investigacion."

The journalist was discussing Bastion Frontal, a nationalist youth group. In the aftermath of his intervention, the holder of the Twitter account @AironTheGod, which has since been closed, sent him insults and death threats. "We will kill you," one of the tweets said.

The journalist filed a complaint with the police on 23 November, with support from the Federation of Spanish Journalists' Unions (FESP).
