Journalist Małgorzata Warzecha’s Computer Hacked

The Local Public Prosecutor's office in Łódź, Poland has opened an investigation into a suspected breach of confidentiality involving material stored on the business computer of Marta Warzecha, a journalist at the Radio Łódź and the head of its union.

In the early morning of Sunday, 24 October 2021, two individuals entered the premises of Radio Łódź, where they met its president, Arkadiusz Paluszkiewicz. Eventually, the police determined that they worked for a firm that retrieved computer data.

The men remained in the president's office for nearly three hours before Warzecha left. As they entered her office, they may have accessed data related to her journalistic and union activities on her computer.

Upon discovering that the case of her business computer had been accessed, Warzecha suspected an intrusion. She notified the police, who secured her computer and footage that was available.
