Ahmad Noorani is a prominent Pakistani journalist with a background in multimedia news reporting, news writing, editing, and data journalism. He is skilled in investigating a wide range of issues concerning democracy, governance, society, and human rights.
Throughout his career, Noorani has delved deep into stories exposing flaws in the system, government malpractices, violations of human rights, money laundering, corruption, and national security concerns. In 2020, Noorani found himself in the United States after being targeted for his fearless reporting on corruption scandals in Pakistan. Faced with threats and attacks, returning home was not an option, prompting him to continue his mission of holding those in power accountable from abroad.
Despite the challenges he has faced, Noorani remains steadfast in his dedication to speaking truth to power. In a recent conversation with Indian journalist Khushboo Razdan as part of the Foreign Correspondents' Talk Series 2024 organized by the Association of Foreign Press Correspondents (AFPC-USA), Noorani shared insights into Pakistan's freedom of the press situation, recent elections, and the country's complex relationship with the United States.
