Irish Journalist Joseph Pelan is Making Waves in New York

Meet Joseph Pelan — a Brooklyn-based Irish video journalist and researcher with a passion for storytelling across borders. With experience reporting and producing for outlets in the UK, Ireland, and Germany, Joseph works across digital, print, television, and radio. He holds a BA in Television & Radio Production from the University of Salford and an MA in Film Production from Queen’s University Belfast, where he focused his postgraduate research on cognitive film theory and sensory perception.

In conversation with Alan Herrera, who leads AFPC-USA's editorial operations, Joseph talks about his career journey, how the BBC and other work experience shaped his personal outlook and improved his skills, and even discusses film, fillmmaking, and the importance of engaging with art in all its forms.
